Ola Belle Reed Festival

Ola Belle Reed - the Mother of Bluegrass - is the inspiration behind this amazing festival held in Lansing every year in August near Big Horse Creek and in the shadow of Phoenix Mountain. Born right here in Lansing, Ola Belle Reed (1916-2002) was an acclaimed songwriter and musician, recognized by the Smithsonian, the National Endowment of the Arts and many additional organizations. Such celebrated artists as Marty Stuart, Del McCoury and Tim O'Brien have recorded her signature song, High on A Mountain .

The Ola Belle Reed Festival gathers musicians from throughout the US to play American, Bluegrass, Old Time and Country music. Musical acts provide continuous day and evening concerts in addition to instrumental, songwriting, and voice workshops. In addition to the artistic programming, the festival also features a Craft Market, Food Court and much more.
